Jeremy Wong - Masters Student
Originally hailing from Quebec City in 'La Belle Province', Jeremy recently completed a B.Eng. in Electrical Engineering at McGill University, Montreal in the spring of 2012. Always interested in the highly interdisciplinary nature of biomedical engineering, he has decided to move westward to the city of Toronto and pursue a M.A.Sc. degree in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Toronto’s Institute of Biomaterials and Biomedical Engineering.
More specifically, he is interested in detection and quantitation of cell-secreted factors such as cytokines using rapid, sensitive and label-free biosensors. Ultimately, he hopes that these sensors will be used to elucidate cell-secretory behaviour in a simple, multiplexed and automated manner.
Previous research experience includes work on the functionalization and optimization of SPR sensor surfaces, and investigating macromodeling algorithms that extract low order pole-residue models from tabulated frequency data.
